The Impact of Organizational Structure and Culture
Organizational structure has been set up to facilitate all goal achievements. It is a way to motivate their employees and get them to work together. It also helps its employees to follow the organizations goals, and work together as a team. In order to do this, they need to have an organized structure to be able to run the company smoothly. A main foundation of every organization is to post their mission statement and goals everywhere so that their employees can see them. By having a centralized organization means not allowing your employees to have control over decision-making. This type of culture that this structure will bring is the lack of accountability from its employees. The environment will be stressful and it can bring hostility from its employees because they will not feel vested in the company or their jobs.

The Interaction of Organizational Structure and Culture
Having a more decentralized organizational structure and culture will help bring more innovated employees. By allowing innovation, companies need to accept diversity because this brings in a more diverse decision-making team that will bring creativity and interaction within the organization. Unfortunately, not many companies follow the same organizational structure and culture, which can weaken a company. “Conflict also arises in poor structures when people seek to exert control within the organization when they may not have the authority. Because the company lacks the strength of a well-defined hierarchy, managerial duties suffer” (George Root, 2014). The interaction between the organizational structure and culture should be well balance in order to have a successful outcome. There are two main types of organizational structures, a traditional organizational structure, and a service line structure. The traditional organizational structure consists of functional structures, hybrid structure, matrix structure, and parallel structure. These are more common in non-medical businesses. A service-line structure is more common in today’s health care organizations (Sullivan, p. 17, 2013). Service-line structures focus on patient care.
