Humanity is cruel. Around the globe, there are people that choose to cause suffering to others. This includes inhuman individuals that take part in such sadistic acts such as being satisfied with stealing or committing murder. Another series of traumatic act that proves that humanity is cruel are genocides and holocausts. Many innocent lives were taken away through eras. In example, about 11 million individuals were killed due to the orders set by Hitler during the Holocaust. Roughly between 500,000 to 800,000 Tutsis were killed during the genocide in Rwanda. In Cambodia, the political power degenerated throughout the Khmer Rouge. The regime started with the power of the government, thanks to Pol Pot. Throughout the course of the time period, the Khmer Rouge managed to maintain power of the government. They were originally referred to as the Communist Party of Kampuchea (also known as CPK for short) when they took jurisdiction of the Cambodian government in April 1975. Between 1975 and 1978, under the regime of the Khmer Rouge, Cambodia experienced a dramatic political shock: massive killings and starvation, large-scale population transfers, forced labor on collective farms, and an almost complete destruction of the school system. Throughout the Khmer Rouge, the political party had to deal with problem involving with those who showed dissent on what Pol Pot was planning to do. The communist party were tied up with several problems especially towards the late 1970’s. During this time period, there were several attempts that were planned to get rid of Pol Pot simply through killing him. Another problem for the political party was that due to all the mass murders, Cambodia managed to lose some of its important members within the political party during these killings.
All across southeast Asia, the Khmer Rouge caused the economy to decline. The Khmer Rouge planned on making profit and increase the economy through building a strong farming basis. They were also planning to be financially supported through local companies. From an internet source, it has in-text evidence that says:
