Nancy Kicklider was born in the United States in the mid-1970s. A Marietta, Georgia, native, Nancy has traveled over United States multiple times throughout her life. Upon entering high school, Nancy and her family moved to Wedowee, Alabama, two hours shy of Marietta, Georgia. She graduated from Randolph County High School, which is positioned in Wedowee. Although over the years Randolph county high school has had an increase in their graduation rate, a high number of students do not pursue a further education once they have graduated. Nancy, however, beat the statistics she decided to attend college.

My friends question me all the time on why I work in such a crime filled place as Tuskegee, but I just respond that there are crimes present everywhere but amongst crime there are some exquisitely amazing people living in Tuskegee.
Nancy is one of two pharmacists who work at this particular CVS. CVS is an extremely successful pharmaceutical company in the United States. Nancy routinely initiates her day by driving from her house in Auburn to her workplace in Tuskegee. Once at work, she handles a number of prescription orders that were called in within the last hour of her arrival. She then disperses her patients’ prescription. She must look in the system to acquire the patients’ medical history to ensure that they are not over using the product or that this prescription will not affect them. Once the medicine is cleared for the patients’, she then educates her patients on how to use the drug and the effects this drug may cause. Nancy undergoes this routine for eight hours a day, until her shift is completed.
Nancy said that the average salary for a pharmacist is one hundred and twenty thousand dollars. “I would advise my young dreamers to consider a career in pharmacy. You will have the chance to meet some wonderful people in the community, even when you think the people around here are tainted. The payout a pharmacist receives is a nice amount, but chose this job for the sake of interest in educating others on medicine, not just for a financial benefit.” Since there is an increasing demand for pharmacist in the Tuskegee area, more youth should be encouraged to acquire a pharmacy career; this could have a positive impact on Tuskegee as a community.
One of her favorite hobbies is reading articles about new clinically drugs around the United States that may become incorporated as part of the pharmaceutical market. Nancy reads information available about the drugs, and then she uses her knowledge gained from medical school to determine whether the product will contribute to society. She likes to keep her informed about new drugs if one of her patient’s asks her about the medicine, then she could give them a well-thought, educated answer. Nancy also occupies herself by spending quality time with her family and friends. “I believe a successful working woman that there should be a balance between personal life and work. If there is no balance, one can find them drifting away from their loved ones considering they are pre-occupied with work.”
