As I watched the ad called “Brutal: Sarah Palin’s Record on Aerial Wolf Hunting”, I see much hatred against Sarah Palin. By the end of the video my attention was so far off of the idea of Sarah Palin being elected vice present, but only on the thought of why a person would support this kind of cruelty. The ad did its main intention the producer of this ad was to convince the audience of how cruel of a person Sarah Palin might be and why citizens should not vote for her. As seeing very much hatred against one person, this paper will focus on analyzing what strategies were used and how, and will take a deeper look and see if the ad is one sided or not.
The advertisement in which goes against Sarah Palins campaign to become Vice President is very well designed to only show the cruelty in which Sarah Palin supports, and that is aerial hunting of Alaskan wildlife. What the producer wants the audience to see in this short ad is the vivid killing process of wolves. One way the producer attempts to change Sarah Palins public view to the audience is to add short clips of a low flying plane and the scene of wolves running desperately on the vast white snows but could not find anywhere to hide because they were so obvious and clearly presented in the action of murder. Additionally the sounds of gunshots, the wolves that were shot struggling for their lives, and the blood of the wolves is shown to shown to appeal to the audiences emotions to show why Sarah Palin is such a cruel individual.
To help the audience better connect Sarah Palin with wildlife murdering. Shown during most of the clip is Sarah’s face along with a subscript of her name at the bottom of the screen. This helps to enhance the connection between Sarah Palin and such awful events so in the eye of the public the first thing that comes to mind, is that this woman supports the murdering of wolves and other wildlife. This type of appeal also helps for people who pay no attention to American politics to see her cruel agreement of wildlife murder.
