That has been a widely asked question from just about every man. The answer is, it actually does. Chocolate causes the brain to produce natural opioids, which are found in opium, producing a feeling of well being. This chemical dulls pain. Chocolate produces a chemical like tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is found in marijuana. Your brain controls everything from body temperature to what you think or dream about. Your brain takes in information from all around you with your eyes, ears, and nose. Your brain handles walking, talking, standing, and breathing.Your brain is wrinkled soft and a little wet and has cortexes throughout it. It weights approximately 3 pounds and human brains are the most complex of all animals. When you are a newborn your brain grows about 3 times in the first year, it acts like a sponge and this is the time when learning is the easiest. Your brain is made up of about 100 million brain cells called neurons. The brain is divided into two hemispheres each containing 4 lobes (Frontal, Parietal, Occipital, and Temporal). The Frontal lobe is involved in motor skills such as speech. It also interprets language and the sounds coming from people's lips. And it is located at the front of the head. The Parietal lobe receives all messages from sense organs such as hands and feet. It also senses pain and discomfort. It is located on the top behind the frontal lobe. The occipital lobe receives and processes visual information; it also interprets upside-down images. And is under the parietal lobe. The temporal lobe processes auditory information from the ears, and it is located beneath the frontal lobe.Do we not have two eyes, two hands, and two legs, so why not two brains? The brain is divided in half, a right and left hemisphere. Yet, the right hemisphere does a different job than the left. The right hemisphere deals more with visual activities and plays a role in putting things together. It organizes and groups information together. The left hemisphere tends to be the more analytical part; it analyzes information collected by the right, and then applies the words to it.We have 3 different types of memory. One being immediate memory such as when someone reads you a phone number and you call it immediately. The other is short-term memory, which is the ability to remember something after 30 minutes but no longer than a few days or a week. Then there is long term memory, which is something you can remember after 2 weeks, a year, or even a decade.Well how can I increase my memory? This varies person to person. Sometimes all it takes is better organization, other times it is doing that thing at a certain point of the day where you won't get so easily distracted and will be more focused. Things that affect memory are being without sleep and feeling fatigued....
