“Title I schooling programs provide financial assistance through State educational agencies (SEAs) to local educational agencies (LEAs) and public schools with high numbers or percentages of poor children to help ensure that all children meet challenging State academic content and student academic achievement standards” (Title 1, Part A). There is always someone there to help; it’s just whether or not one is willing to look. When looking into secondary schooling it can be difficult to find the help if one just looks on the surface; but if one digs a little deeper they should be able to find that special someone who is there to help. Not everyone has the same opportunities presented to them on a silver platter, but hard work and dedication to get far can present them with endless possibilities. However no matter how hard a person may look for help if they don’t put in the work once they are given the opportunity then they may not get very far. Title I legislation and schooling can be very helpful for children who are struggling with their education so many school have certain programs for students who need extra help, special standards and procedures as well as criteria placement and the No Child Left Behind Program can be that boost; many concerned parents want a bit more, so they should check their local education for Tile I Schooling.
Title I has many special standards and procedures that aid children to help them achieve high goals that they may not be capable of if not given the proper assistance. “The purpose of this title is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a maximum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments” (Education). To ensure that each child is treated equally numerous steps are taken to guarantee those priorities are fulfilled to their highest potential. Teachers as well have unique processes of teaching the children in a way that will better fit there needs. Teachers have to develop lessons that include intentional plans. This planning should be comprehensive and include such information as to follow the interest of the children, appropriate activities, and connection to the assignment, as well as meet the individual needs of the children, and connect to foundations (Title 1 pre-k Programs, Standards and Procedures). “The main objectives we focus on in a Title I school depend entirely on what the government wants us to do. While I was there, the focus was on collaborative group work and making learning fun in hopes of drawing in more student participation. We also needed to get our EOC test scores up, so all of our focus was directed towards collaborative group work and testing. My students were tested once every other week.
