Uc 1000 Essay

1774 words - 8 pages

Through the last 13 weeks I have learned about whom I am and what makes me who I am. I have made some great friends not only my age but also older and younger than me. I have realized many things about myself that I never would have realized if I wouldn’t have came here. College is a whole new experience that you could never imagine unless you are there. It is nothing like you read or even that you watch on TV. It is completely different and you learn a lot about yourself as a person.
Over the last semester I have learned many things about myself. I have learned that no matter what anyone says I am a strong young woman that can take anything life throws at me. I have also learned a lot about myself as a person and that there is a lot more to the world then just where I grew up. I have also learned that going to a smaller school in high school was a blessing but also was bad for me in many different ways. Through this semester I have learned what my strengths and weaknesses are and how to deal with them. I have learned that some of my strengths are also weaknesses in some way and that to deal with them I must first know what they are. I have also learned what my values are and that sometimes your values change with the things you do. You should also not just settle for things that go against you values. Along with learning what my values are I learned how my personality affects my values. I so the fact that I have more of an internal happy personality affects my values because one of the top values that I have is that I have friends. This relates to the fact that my work interests are more because where I work after college must be a place where I am able to work with people. I am a very socially active person so where ever I work I must be able to have a lot of social interaction. Throughout this semester we have talked a lot about what we want to do and what some of our goals are. At first I did not really know what to say to that. I didn’t really have any goals. Now I can proudly say that my goals are to get into the school of scripts and major in broadcasting. While I have been at college I have found out that there a lot of things to do that I have never experienced before and I love having the chance to get to. I have also realized that you have to study a lot more than I did in high school. It takes a lot more to get a good grade in college and you have to know how to manage your time perfectly and get a good balance of studying to fun with friends because no one is there to tell you what to do and what not to do it is all up to you to get everything done that you need to. Another thing I have learned is that making friends in college is much harder than it was in high school. In high school you were with the same people every day so you got to see them without even having to plan it. In college it doesn’t work that way everyone has different schedules and you have to make plans to see each other outside of class. You don’t automatically...
