The specification of this week three assignment, facilitated by Professor xxxxx xxxxx, for the University of Phoenix- xxxxx Campus was to complete the simulation "Applying ANOVA and Nonparametric Tests". ANOVA is one of the richest and most thoroughly explored fields of statistics (Doane & Seward, 2007). This paper will be a brief summary which discusses three lessons I learned concerning ANOVA and Nonparametric tests. It will also briefly cover what concepts and analytic tools I may be able to use at my job. Finally this paper will recommend additional information I might recommend to the key decision maker in the simulation to solve the challenge given.ANOVA or analysis of variance has the assumption that each population under analysis is of normal distribution, errors are unsystematic and independent from one another and all populations have the same variance (University of Phoenix, 2009). These assumptions are not always possible. A nonparametric test like the Kruskal- Wallis may be applied. Through the completion of the simulation, I learned the importance of accurate identification of a one- way analysis as opposed to a two- way analysis in test performance. I also learned to use the Kruskal- Wallis test if I am not able to determine if the data is of normal distribution. Finally, I learned to be conscious of the three afore mentioned assumptions and know if they are met.Having completed the simulation, I believe that several tools I have become acquainted with could come in handy at my place of employment. Tools such as the Two- way ANOVA and Chi Square Test could be used to determine how effective our salespeople are. These tools could also be used to study what factors seem the most influential to the success of new employees...
