Dave Grossman is a retired Lieutenant Colonel, an expert in the psychology of killing, and also a former psychology professor for West Point. This article is Grossman's viewpoint on the recent tragedies such as the Newtown Shooting and its correlation with video games. Grossman talks about his experience with the military and how the military simulators that are used in our military are very much like the video games that are being introduced to the youth of our nation. This source will help shed some light on one of the perspectives someone could have towards this topic and how some people,such as Grossman, believe that violent video games are desensitizing our youth.

In this article writer Luke Plunkett takes a look at one of the very first violent video games that found itself under the scrutiny of the nation. The game is based off the 1975 cult classic Death Race 2000 and was released in 1975 under the title Death Race. The article showcases game play where you find yourself in control of a car and your objective is to run over human looking creatures called gremlins. The article focuses on various ways in in which the video game caused media uproar even to the point of being featured on 60 Minutes and also caused the first ever protests against a video games content. The games developer even pointed out that the more publicity that Death Race got pertaining to its violence the more that the developers saw sales increase.
