Kudler Fine Foods is an upscale specialty food store that caters to the upscale epicurean shopper. The original store is located in the San Diego metropolitan area. Kudler Fine Food's company has three locations, La Jolla, Del Mar and Encinitas, each store has approximately 16,000 square feet of retail space located in a fashionable shopping center. Each store has the very best domestic and imported fresh bakery and pastries, fresh produce, fresh meats and seafood, cheeses and specialty dairy products and wines. Kathy Kudler opened the first store on June 18, 1998 and in 2000 a second store opened in Del Mar and later in 2003 a third store opened. Kathy's passion for gourmet food prompted her to open up her first store that provided a one stop shop for other gourmet cooks. Kathy would spend a lot of time traveling to find various types of gourmet food to cater to her need for a certain food product as well as the tool in which to prepare the food.Kudler Fine Foods is stocked with the best domestic and imported foods along with the cooking tools in which to prepare the foods. Kudler Fine Foods is the source for professional chefs and gourmet cooks. The culinary philosophy is that each individual has his or her own level of expertise, and there exists a need to span the spectrum with available products to serve these needs.Kudler Fine Foods has another feature that attracts customers which is, "Personal Shopping." Personal Shopping is a service that Kudler Food's offers which sets this company apart from other gourmet markets. This company enjoys the pleasure and the privilege to hand select those items that will create, complement or complete any idea of great cuisine. This business and service is in such demand that there is a need to expand to cater to other ethnicities. The Hispanic group would be a good test pilot to introduce the gourmet cuisine provided by Kudler Fine Food's. Going, "Public" or "Initial Public Offering," IPO would be a good vehicle to use in an effort to eventually expand to the Hispanic community. Before going public, there must be a S.W.O.T.T. analysis done to identify all of the possible pros and cons that could arise when going public. IPO offers the public with the opportunity to become shareholders and this could also present the opportunity for a franchise that would cater to the Hispanic group. Going public and adding a Hispanic segment to the business would pose a win situation for Kudler Fine Food's.The Hispanic group is represented in large numbers across the global scale. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, between 1960 and 2000, the proportion of Hispanics more than tripled from 3.9% to 12.5%, making the U.S. the 5th largest Hispanic country in the world.
