Adolf Hitler was a major influential figure of the 20th century as he fostered warlike ideas and advocated World War 2. Adolf Hitler would stop at nothing to achieve his goal of the perfect race even causing mass genocide of countries of different races and Religions. Germany’s scene was set just right for his rise to power, using his secret police to take out anyone who opposed his views and ultimately leading him as supreme leader of the Nazi party. The same party used to lead Germany into war.
The stage of Germany after the crisis following World War 1 was set perfectly for the rise of a dictator. Citizens of Germany were living in extreme poverty and starvation causing the people to dive into a deep depression. Hitler was regarded as a World War 1 veteran hero receiving the iron cross for bravery on multiple occasions and rising to the rank of Lance Corporal. Germany was under the attack of communism and so the ‘Free Corps’ were introduced to fight the communist, this group of war veterans were the nucleus to the Nazi’s. The End of world war one brought Germany to absolute shame, fuelling Hitler’s hatred, as he believed Germany was destined for greatness. Hitler spoke in front of large audiences promising to save Germany and to hate the Jews and Communist, convincing the people that with his power Germany will rule for thousands of years. Hitler had a exceptional skill at persuading people, after his speeches they people would often chant “Heil, Hitler” (Peter Moss, “History Scene in the modern world”, Page 40) After running for Führer with his Nazi party behind him and winning by a landslide due to the votes from rural towns and farmers who were promised more land and wealth. When really the money promised to the people was used to fund his war plans.
Hitler was an unstoppable force, capable of eliminating anyone who crossed his path. If one, spoke up and objected to his views they would be ‘removed’ by Adolf Hitler’s secret police the SS and the SA. In the months after Hitler took power, the SA agents went from door to door looking for Hitler's enemies. Socialists, Communists, trade union leaders, and others who had spoken out against the Nazi party were arrested even killed. By the middle of 1933, the Nazi party was the only political party left, and nearly all organized opposition to the party had been eliminated.
