What Does It Take To Be A Hero

756 words - 3 pages

Webster’s definition of a hero is, a person who is admired for great or brave acts ("Hero."). This is a basic definition because in actuality the definition of hero is more complex. A hero is someone who is selfless. In spite of the dangers or fears of what may happen, a hero will still do the right thing. A hero is someone who sees something that needs to be done and does it no matter the cost to themselves.
In order for someone to be considered a hero they must be completely selfless. They must be so at all times; even when it is difficult to do so, he must put others before themselves. A person is more concerned with the needs of others. An example of this would be, being in a rush and seeing someone fall. A hero or selfless person would stop and go help this person even though they are in a rush.
A lot of the times people think of a hero as someone who does something big like saving someone’s life or preventing a crime. But in reality it is even the people that go the extra mile to help someone else out, even when it is just a little thing, like stopping to help someone look for their car keys. It doesn’t have to be a big gesture, because sometimes the smallest gesture goes a long way.
For someone to be a hero that must have a mindset of giving. This means that they know that when it comes down to if they have something that another person needs they will give it to them without any hesitation. An example of this type of person is mostly the people that you see donating to the homeless or taking in foster kids. Most of the time when you see somebody that donates to the homeless or takes care of foster children, they are not rich or wealthy people but, usually they are people that don’t have much. They offering what little they already have to others that have less. That is a hero.
A hero must be kindhearted and compassionate. This means that this person cares for and looks out for others. This type of person goes into every situation having the best intentions and a positive attitude. A simple example of this is someone that goes and cuts yards for free...
