Nobody ever said that being a teenager was easy; at school, on social media, and with their peers, the youth of today experience many struggles in their day to day life. To start, school is extremely difficult and stressful for many young people in our society who are striving to achieve their desired futures. Researchers writing an article about the stress levels of high school students, conducted a survey to prove that adolescents carry a great burden that may be more than they can handle. The results were shocking! 128 students, teachers, and administrators were instructed to take a survey and answer a few questions about students’ stress levels and coping strategies that would help them prove their point. They found that 49 percent of students reported feeling “a great deal of stress” on a daily basis. Half of the students reported doing three or more hours of homework per night, and 26 percent noted that they had been diagnosed with depression. This was over four times the national average of 6 percent. In addition, Social media is taking over the world one step at a time.
