A man/woman is known by the fruits of his/her labor. Although that statement seems straightforward to most it can be translated in many ways depending on what you consider the fruit and labor to be. For some people the fruit refers to money. The more money you have the more of a man/woman you are. A priest or nun might consider the fruit to resemble love and they spend their lives entirely devoted to the love of humankind. Lastly the fruit is thought to mean bad emotions or painful memories. People driven by emotions or past memories tend to neither care for themselves or fellow man/woman. People driven by love see love as a chance to improve the world as a whole step by step. It's about taking care of children who are left orphaned by war, famine, or disease. It is educating people so they can live better tomorrow. There is an old saying "You can give a man some fish and he will eat well for a few days. You can teach a man to fish and he'll eat well for the rest of his life". Mother Teresa was a good example of someone driven by love. When she was awarded the noble peace award she had these words to say, "I choose the poverty of our poor people. But I am grateful to receive (the Nobel Peace Prize) in the name of the hungry, the naked, the homeless, of the crippled, of the blind, of the lepers, of all those people who feel unwanted, unloved, uncared-for throughout society, people that have become a burden to the society and are shunned by everyone." She cared for and loved people that know one else would come near. Love drove her to care for humankind before herself.
