As a young man growing up, I have always been fascinated by science, medicine, and technology. Reading about the latest advancements in these subjects has always sparked my curiosity and imagination of how people are continually improving life. I knew I would have to find a career choice that would include my passion of science that also contributed to humanity. Pharmacy provides the perfect blend of my interests with improving patient quality of life, effective communication, and innovations in science and technology. By knowing myself I have been able to excel not only personally, but also academically.
Education has always been a major component of my life because it is the tool that makes goals a reality. Majoring in biology has created a science based foundation that provides the core of future studies in pharmacy. I have learned laboratory techniques that apply in a similar fashion. I have presented projects and given presentations that required organizing and analyzing information and data. Ultimately, this would lead to verbally communicating the findings and explaining the concepts behind the information. Similarly, a pharmacist would have to do this with patients, staff, and other professionals. The level of interest and focus of my personal character can be seen academically, especially in the numerous times I have made the dean’s list. All of the education and knowledge I have translates directly into my professional background.
