Genetically modified foods are produced from organisms that have gone through a process that introduces specific changes to its DNA using genetic engineering. This process allows companies to choose specify traits a crop will display. On the surface this process seems like a technological breakthrough, and it is, however, the topic of genetically modified foods (GMOs) is very complex. There are many aspects of this process we must consider when deciding if GMOs should continue to be sold. Due to many human health, environmental, and economical concerns the sale of all genetically modified foods should be banned.

They found GMOs are just as safe as other seeds. However, can a company that relies on GMOs to make profit really stay completely unbiased during testing? How about independent studies that are funded by Monsanto. Is it in their best interest to bad-mouth the company that let them run the study in the first place? This is why we must pay close attention to the studies conductors.
The concept of banning GMOs is something other countries have considered, and taken in to action. There are many countries that have put different levels of GMO regulation in to effect. Including Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, France, and the list goes on go and go. The fact that so many countries have some level of regulation on GMOs shows that governments are concerned about the affect they could have.
The environmental concerns of GMOs are part of this debate that should be important to us. After all, it could be damaging the world we live in. The environmental aspect of GMOs is a much more one-sided argument than human health aspect. Many national organizations, including the World Health Organization, agree that there are very real environmental dangers associated with GMO’s. The term “out-crossing” is a process in which genetically modified crops transfer their engineered genes to wild crop.
