WHY MONARCHY SHOULD BE ABOLISHED

“The King must die so that the country can live”. With this strong sentence the French revolutionary Maximilien Robespierre expressed his opinion about this absurdity that we use to call monarchy. The monarchy is an historical tyranny that should be abolished now, and replaced by the true government of the people, the republic.
Why you, citizen, can’t live in the same palaces than the king? Why you, worker with full rights “in theory”, should pay the dinners and the capricious live of the monarchs you haven’t chose? Why a human being, only for being born somewhere, has the right to be head of a state and not you? We’re supposed to have the same rights, aren’t we?
And the final question that we should make us is: Should we accept this grievance against our dignity and intelligence? The answer is: no.

Many people say the monarchs don’t have a relevant function so it doesn’t really matter to maintain them: False, monarchs don’t have a relevant function so it doesn’t make sense to maintain them.

Some people say the monarchy is the same that the presidency in a republic. This principle is completely false and I will explain you why. First of all, because having a monarch or a president makes the difference between being a servant of somebody or being a true citizen. What would you prefer? In my case, I value my dignity.
In addition to that, the cost of the presidency of the republic is less than the cost of the monarchy. For example: The Irish presidency is fifty times less costly than the British monarchy!

Another situation is the snobbish behaviour of the kings being honour presidents of uncountable foundations, charitable organizations, etc. Pronouncing speeches showing constantly their opinion, making people believe that in their hands is the answer to the problems of the world: It’s embarrassing. What have they done in his lives to be where they are? Which are their merits to have what they have? Why not you? Where is the equality between human beings? Where?
