Good morning everybody, by now all of you will have seen the morbid and shocking images on television. Known to man as one of the most damaging, disastrous and detrimental typhoons in history, Super Haiyan ravaged through our entire country leaving nothing to spare. Within a split second those which were known as our most prized possession were instantly consumed by the monstrous typhoon. Our initial reports show that this monstrosity left a wake of massive destruction that is unthinkable, unprecedented and horrendous. As of now we are unable to know the full extent of the damages, economic and human losses caused by Super Typhoon Haiyan. However we are certain that our respond teams are currently at work, sifting through every crack and every hole looking for any survivors. Should there be any hope to cling on to for the victims of Super Typhoon Haiyan is the fact that Fillipinos from all corners of the country will be there for you, opening their hearts and homes for you, supporting you through the journey of grief and recovery because we as a country fall together and rise together as one in unity. The spirit of the Philippines has been seen many times throughout the past years. We have stood back up from Typhoon Washi. We have stood back up from Typhoon Megi and we will do it once again from Super Typhoon Haiyan.

I want to say something to the citizens of the Philippines who are watching the horrible, gruesome images on the news. I know it may hard to understand the full effect what is currently happening in our country. But I want all of you to understand that sometimes painful things like these can happen. The future does not belong to the faint-hearted but instead belongs to the brave.
